About Wild Cats World
-
A non-profit foundation, established in June 2010 in the Netherlands. The foundation has one important mission, to achieve the best welfare of endangered wild cats species in captivity and to contribute to the survival of the species in their natural habitat.
Awareness, Education and Appreciation are the keywords to reach the ultimate goal.
Apart from a large scale Education and Conservation Programme, Wild Cats World also has different projects, like the huge leopard project, caracalproject, black footed cats and (part of the) serval project at the Daniell Cheetah Project, starting a succesful cooperation between the two projects with the same mission in Spotted Cats Conservation. Also, WCW was the initiator of the lionsproject, saving Chuck and Norris.
Wild Cats World is creating a huge network with reliable and non-hunting projects/farms in South Africa for the wild cats in order to have a good bloodline of e.g. leopards and caracals, to give them the best life in captivity with possible re-wilding and releases in befriended reserves. One of these catfriendly places is the Zanchieta Wildcat farm just outside Bloemfontein.
About Daniell Cheetah Project
Come for a tour of the Project and get shown around by one of our trained guides. You will be able to meet our cheetahs, lions, leopards, servals, caracal and blackfooted cats. Tours are daily from 9.00- 16.45.
The cheetah project offers an experience where visitors not only get an interesting, personalized tour, but can also interact with and stroke the cheetahs. We believe this will open the eyes of people to the importance of Cheetah conservation.
Daniell Cheetah Breeding project was established in May 2001 and started with just three cats. It has since grown with saving cheetahs from the wild, breeding and swapping of animals.
The aim of this project is to play a part in the conservation of the Cheetah (Acinonyx Jubatus), the re-establishment of pure gene lines, as well as educating people to the importance of conserving this amazing species.
We are open 7 days a week, and can be found on the R75 national road, 40km from Uitenhage and just 80km from the Port Elizabeth airport.
The mutual mission of Wild Cats World and Daniell Cheetah Project is to let the wild cats range freely though protected. Huges pieces of land are needed for this. Our non-profit organisation relies solely on sponsorship and donations to be able to achieve our final mission.
Daniell Cheetah Project also has other attractions:
- The Padstal where you can browse for gifts and African Arts at very reasonable prices
- Coffee, Tea and Light meals can be ordered for take-away or sit-down meals
- Feeding the tame Kudu's and Springbuck
- Experiencing the hospitality of the Daniell Family
